Seminars/Coaching Offered:
Introductory Core Value Seminar
More important to success in work and relationships than
intellectual intelligence, emotional intelligence
is the ability to: understand one’s own emotions, regulate
them for productive behavior, muster high levels of motivation,
and understand the emotions of others. The regular practice
of the skills learned in the Introductory Core Value
Seminar automatically increases emotional intelligence.
This course is an introduction to the teachings of core
value and the power of compassion. It is a 4-hour seminar
with group practice included. You'll leave this seminar
equipped with the skills needed to reconnect with your core
value and regulate your emotions. Empowered with these skills,
you will have the ability to act in your own long term best
interest, strengthening your sense of self and your relationships
with others. While typically offered as a half-day seminar,
this program can also be offered in full-day workshops providing
more group interaction, based on the needs of participants.
Core Value Follow-up Teleclass
A 1-hour teleconference per week for 6 weeks following
the Core Value Seminar. All participants of the Core Value
Seminar are invited to attend. This conference is useful
in providing participants an opportunity to ask questions
about the material as they implement it in their everyday
lives. The instructor will assist and monitor participants
as they build these new emotional regulatory skills over
the 6 week period and will elaborate on the material taught
in the seminar as needed.
Personal Core Value Coaching
One-on-one coaching for individuals interested in learning
the materials taught in the Core Value Seminars, but in
a personal coaching experience. This coaching can be provided
face-to-face or via teleconference as requested by the participant.
Personal coaching can consist of only the introductory seminar
or a package including the introductory material and a followup
personal weekly teleconference (recommended).
The Empowered Workplace
Emotions can make or break a business. The hidden cause
of most failure in the workplace is resentment. This course
is comprised of skill building material to teach employees
how to regulate resentment and managers how to mitigate
employee resentment as well as regulate their own. Emotional
Intelligence slides are presented along with Emotional Intelligence
training materials. Courses are designed to foster teamwork
and group interaction. Additional Emotional Intelligence
Workshops can be provided if requested. The length of this
course varies depending on the needs of the employer contracting
the course.
Basic Skills for Keeping Jobs
Research on job training programs for the disadvantaged
shows that they adequately learn the necessary skills to
do most jobs. The problem occurs in keeping the jobs once
they get them. Many who have worked hard to master training
respond to accumulating stresses on the job with inappropriate
or self-destructive behavior. Employers attribute this to
deficits in “soft skills.” The federal government has identified
“soft skills” necessary for success on the job as: responsibility,
sociability, self-management, integrity/honesty, teamwork,
leadership, negotiation, self-worth, serves clients and
works with diversity. The dilemma for trainers and employers
is that the “soft skills” are not directly teachable. They
follow from emotional regulation skills (particularly of
resentment, anger, and boredom), which allow workers to
act in their long-term best interests. This course teaches
employees these regulation skills. With emotional regulation
mastered, the “soft skills” require little additional instruction.
Empowered Drivers
Angry drivers make themselves and everybody around them
angry, resentful, impatient, and irritated. Without skill
in emotional regulation, we are all at the mercy of anger-junkies,
who use anger for energy and pain-relief. Empowered drivers
regulate emotions to ensure behavior in their best interest.
They control themselves, not the road. They increase self-respect
through respect for everyone on the road. This course varies
in length on the needs of the contracting employer and provides
the skill building material needed to empower drivers to
act in their own long term best interest.
Empowered Police
Police officers face unique challenges in the regulation
of anger, resentment, and stress. These chronic emotional
hazards tragically affect the high rates of suicide, divorce,
domestic violence, and alcoholism among our most sacrificing
of public servants. In addition to the obvious stresses
and risks of police work, a less visible burden on officers
comes from the tension between the opposite socialization
of the paramilitary structure of the police versus the demands
of ordinary citizens and of the officer’s own family. In
dealing with citizens, the rules of rank are far less clear.
The result is mounting resentment and anger, which can easily
become "militarized" into dominant behavior against citizens
and even loved ones. In Empowered Police training,
officers learn to: understand and respectfully cope with
the anger of non-offending citizens, recognize the earliest
and most subtle signs of aggression in citizens, respond
(not react) to the anger of suspects and uncooperative citizens,
while regulating their own anger for maximum performance
with minimum threat, keep anger, resentment, and anxiety
from the job out of the home by distinguishing behaviors
appropriate on duty from those appropriate at home, and
how to shift gears from work persona to home life. This
course is offered in 1/2 day and full day seminars based
on the needs of the employer contracting the course.
Love Without Hurt
Failure of compassion in marriage feels like betrayal and
abuse, often resulting in resentment. Because resentment
of your partner violates your own deeper values, it must
be regulated within you, not by your partner. This course
is intended to teach couples the individual skills needed
to ensure the ability to connect with core value and feel
compassion for themselves and their partner. This course
is 4 - 6 hours in length, depending on the number of participants.
Individual couples coaching is also available upon request,
either in person or via teleconference. A follow-up teleclass
is offered for participants upon completion of this course.
Compassionate Parenting
Compassionate Parenting is an empirically validated, 10-week
course. It includes education and behavioral practice of
parenting principles and techniques, as well as an emotional
regulation technique proven to reduce anger, resentment,
and anxiety. The regular practice of Compassionate Parenting
is guaranteed to increase cooperation, self-esteem, and
self-discipline, while simultaneously reducing anger, resentment,
and hostility in children and parents. Parents will have
better relationships with their children and learn to enjoy
them, guide them, and learn from them. Compassionate Parenting
raises emotional intelligence through heavy emphasis on
before-the-fact emotional motivation of behavior, rather
than after-the-fact consequences. The result is much more
effective discipline that does nothing to detract from the
crucial relationship between parents and children. This
course consists of 10, 2 hour sessions with homework assignments.
Compassionate Parenting in Divorce or Custody
Disputes
Research shows that drawn out divorce and custody disputes
are more psychologically damaging to children than death
of a parent. Although shocking at first, this finding makes
perfect sense with further thought. When a parent dies,
the child can idealize him or her and feel secure that the
parent is “watching over me from heaven.” But in a custody
or protracted divorce dispute, the child sees both parents
at their worst for a long time, feeling that, as one child
put it, “It’s all because of me.” Symptoms of children in
custody disputes or divorce may include one or more of the
following: depression (looks like chronic boredom), anxiety,
school problems, aggressiveness, hyperactivity, low self-esteem,
exhibiting over-emotionality (anger, excitability, or frequent
crying), or no emotions at all. Anything you do to
harm, put down, or in any way denigrate your former partner,
directly and profoundly harms your children! Regular
practice of skills taught in this course are guaranteed
to increase cooperation, self-esteem, and self-discipline,
while simultaneously reducing anger, resentment, and hostility
in children and parents. This course is a 10-week course
consisting of 2 hour sessions per week and homework assignements.
Power Quest - Healing Angry Teens
This course uses two new tools to help teens develop internal
regulatory skill: The Power Quest CD-ROM and the Basic Humanity
Workbook (included in fee). Teens will learn how to counteract
the chronic powerlessness they feel with pro-social empowerment.
This course provides structured intervention (kids respond
better with structure) and ways to get teens "unstuck".
Kids will develop an emotional vocabulary and will learn
that something within regulates their emotions and behavior,
namely, their Core Value. They will be taught skills to
condition Core Value to occur automatically, whenever there
is anger and resentment. Healing Angry Teens is designed
as a full-day seminar.
Power Love
Power Love is a male-friendly program for enriching
marriage and eliminating resentment. Women maintain and
nurture relationships, but men decide whether they improve
or don’t improve. Most marriage enrichment programs are
designed by women for women, leaving men the choice of “feeling
like women” or becoming more emotionally isolated. In today’s
high divorce environment, many men sadly fall in love with
their wives as they walk out the door. Powerful marriage
is not about gender or “feelings” or getting what you want
or increasing communication skill... Powerful marriage is
about staying in touch with your deepest Core Value. In
this seminar, you'll learn how to strengthen your marriage
in just 4 3/4 minutes per day, how to vitalize your intimate
life and eliminate resentment, and how to balance the three
levels of connection proven to be necessary for happy, productive
living: Intimate, Communal, Spiritual. Full and half-day
seminars are available for this course.
Emotional Regulation for Better Health
For Professionals & Managed Care Companies - Learn to
teach clients emotional regulation skills that will: shorten
treatment time, provide foundation for more effective prevention
and wellness programs, supplement medication for depression,
anxiety, and poor impulse-control. This course also provides
compassion training for medical staff. Studies show that
compassion exhibited by medical staff enhances patient recovery
by as much as 30% and satisfaction with care by nearly double
that figure. Compassion skills can be learned with the salutary
effect of increasing morale and well being of staff and
patients alike. Staff will learn that the secret of compassion
for patients is self-compassion. Special emphasis is placed
on communicating compassion to difficult patients and fellow
staff members.
Empowered Teaching
This innovative program provides the tools for teachers
to empower themselves as they empower students. Teachers
will raise their own emotional intelligence while students
raise theirs. You will learn how to demonstrate in the classroom
that children's greatest resource is investment of their
interest. You will learn how to emphasize motivation, which
guides and changes behavior before the fact, instead of
relying exclusively on consequences that are always after
the fact. In terms of student response, whatever teachers
say or do matters less than their emotional motivation in
saying or doing it. Practice of the Empowered Teaching program
is guaranteed to reduce anger, resentment, powerlessness,
stagnation, spite, infighting, back-stabbing, burnout, sabotage,
and the potential for violence. The length of this course
varies depending on the needs of the employer who contracts
it.
The Secret of Love and Happiness
"Becoming Emotionally Attractive to Emotionally
Attractive People"
This course teaches participants to recondition their
unconscious emotional demeanor to be their true emotionally
attractive self. Participants will learn the red flags
to avoid and the skills needed to be true to their core
value in a relationship. This course is offered as a 4-hour
seminar, intended for singles.
The Healing Power of Compassion
This program is designed for a christian audience. It
incorporates music ministry and the teachings of the bible
into the Core Value Seminar. Everything taught by CORE Value,
Inc. is based on the healing power of compassion. This seminar
marries the scientific research and evidence of CompassionPower
programs with the teachings of the bible about compassion.
The Healing Power of Compassion can be customized
to the specific church group contracting it, but is designed
to be a full day seminar.
